The need

We are requesting donations of old computer equipment which we can refurbish to give an internet enabled device to people that need one. The two main groups who will benefit are:

  • People who are isolated and have no way of communicating with the outside world
  • Families who have children that need to do homework, and have no computer or internet connection to help them with this

What we are looking for

  • laptops
  • tablets
  • desktops
  • monitors,
  • smart phones
  • chargers for smartphones
  • mice
  • keyboards
  • power cables and connecting cables
  • mini wifi hubs that can provide internet access

we will take anything. Even with old devices, we will install lightweight versions of operating systems like Linux which we will attempt to make look as much as possible like Windows 10. These computers are for short term use for people who don't have access to a computer with an internet. They are not intended to be state of the art.

All computers will be wiped of their data to a professional standard. Any equipment we can not use will be disposed of in an ecologically friendly way.
